Message from the Principal

We are on the path to our new Chinook’s Edge school in Sylvan Lake! Staff from Central Office are working with us on the many details involved in building and equipping our new school. At their regular meeting on November 4, the Board of Education reviewed the responses to our public survey and officially chose the name Beacon Hill Elementary School. We are very excited by the positive momentum forward! Along the way, we are working together to lay a strong foundation that will cultivate school pride, a caring culture, strong relationships, and a school community focused on achieving success at school and success at life. As the administration team for our new school, Vice Principal Suzanne Thibault and I are proud to be part of the larger planning team that is making our long-awaited school a reality!

As we proceed through the development stages in the coming months, parents and families in all of our Sylvan Lake schools will continue to have plenty of opportunity to provide input. We invited your suggestions for naming our new school, and we were very pleased with the number of people who responded. There is a great deal of interest in our new school, and we appreciate the support of our community. Parents have also provided input on school boundaries and, further down the path, parents, students and staff will be invited to share their ideas for a school logo, mascot and other details.

Thank you for being an important part of our planning process. By sharing your input all along the way, we will open doors to endless opportunities for students in Beacon Hill Elementary School! Please visit this website often, as we will have lots of exciting news to share in the coming months.
